Knicks fans dis Bynum
Posted on LakersGround.net on 10/23/06.
I like to hear viewpoints from other fans as a check on overvaluing Laker players. However, over at RealGM, there is a thread where most of the posts bash Bynum unreasonably hard:

Please, this dude grew up in my town and went to middle school and freshman year of high school before he transferred. He was never dominant nor has the athleticism that draft "experts" claim he has. He isn't good and one good game isn't gonna change that. His max potential is Brendan Haywood.

My boys in my high school use to clown the kid on the court, and I was one of the few that said he would suck.

Yup friends of mine went to high school with the kid and they all echoed the same statements above, a *ussy, no1 thought he would amount to anything resembling a decent basketball player, no hands, no skills, its funny because a couple of them were laker fans and were making fun of me when NBADraft.net had the Knicks taking Bynum with pick 29, it ended up the Lakers taking him at 10 and the Knicks taking Lee, it made for a very fun draft night.

man oh man do people ever overrate other teams players.
this kid is so skill-less its amazing. Yes hes big, yes hes strong, yes hes young.
Ill take Curry anyday. ill take frye anyday. i cant wait to watch those two abuse Bynum all game long.
its a good thing he has kobe so he doesnt have to do much

LOL. If Bynum went to college his stock would've dropped to the second round. What is your obsession with Bynum. What do you see with him? He has all the size in the world but none of the athleticism to dominate. I mean are you kidding me? He is mechanical in his movements, lacks coordination, and is just very lackadaisical overall. Dominance? In preseason? Dominance isn't getting a few put back gimmes in a preseason game against a Phoenix frontline that tops out at 6'9. Not only that, Phoenix is one of the weaker defensive teams in the league, so imagine what their defense is like in preseason.

Bynum will be a servicable center. He does not have explosiveness or much athleticism. His best move was this slow as hell move around Shaq, who happens to be slower these days. He is tall, and has girth, so he will block some shots, grab a few boards and get a dunk or layup now and then. I agree with the poster, he is Brendan Haywood, but I will give him a little credit, he could be a rich mans Brendan Haywood.

He has the worst work ethic ever. He a lazy piece of sh*t
